Objectives

When is it?

The mission of La Salle BES Welcome Week is to facilitate the transition of undergraduate students to the university through the provision of programs and services outlining the university’s academic expectations and opportunities and to facilitate the transition to a new country. It seeks to help students to feel welcomed, to connect with their new environment, to understand expectations, and to seek support.
The goals and purpose of Orientation Program
- To provide program exposure and representation during individual orientation sessions through collaboration with academic schools and departments
- To provide comprehensive information about academic requirements and expectations
- To provide the best possible experience for entering new students by ensuring quality service during the orientation program through collaboration with departments, registrar office, professors, health, how to apply for residency, NIE, temporary housing, cost of living in Barcelona, student visa, discover Barcelona.
- To assist new students in understanding their rights, responsibilities, and opportunities within their new academic home and community
- To provide comprehensive information and exposure to student services and co-curricular programs
- To share with new students the traditions and culture of Barcelona (Catalunya) and Spain
- To facilitate initial academic advising
- To familiarize students with the campus environment and facilities and involvement opportunities To share with other students their experiences
Importance of the Spanish Language
It is very important to realize that even the program is imparted in English we are in Spain and knowing the language is a plus and almost a requirement. For that during the welcome week students will have a brief introduction to Spanish and students must be aware that the internship during their third year could be in Spanish as well as one subject per year will be taught in Spanish. |
